Bookworms! I'm back with a very marvelous funny book! Bossypants by Tina Fey. If you're a fan of 30 Rock you know her. I saw her book on Pinterest one day, when I'd been scrolling up and down looking for a good recommendation for books. well, I can tell my reading habit came back when I got home for this holiday. I love reading but when I was at my dorm and been doing every college activity, I forgot all that. when I could go home and got an empty house, a quite place and that must have been my home I read all those books on my shelf.
okay focus on the book, so what's bossypants all about? it's a biography of Tina Fey, she wrote down from her child memories into present day, now.
she described how everything was beautiful when she was a child, she had been raised up as a smart woman by her old fashioned parents but she loves her parents so much. and you have to read when she went for her honeymoon to Bermuda! it was hilarious! and she wrote down about how she got the job as a writer and ended up on SNL and then 30 rock. such a pleasant reading!
and she explained how her stress comes and goes, a very busy working mom and need to rest a little while to get sometimes with her family as a mother.
you'll find this book is very funny and makes you think that you can be a person who lives in your dream job sometimes. maybe after trial and error thing happens, but you will find it if you're strong and confident enough to make it, you'll make it. such a open minded!
she thinks like a man, in my opinion. well, I want it! a big success for my career in the future. and many people had shown you they made it. so, it's not impossible for me, for you, for us. we can be a smart mom and a hard worker mom in the same time. but it needs sacrifices.
so, you can find this book on Books and Beyond or Periplus, at any Periplus and Books and Beyond (if you live in jakarta or Indonesia), the price of this book is average and it's worth buying!
here some pictures about the book which are some my favorite parts:
happy reading! Me love ya!
Bookworms! I'm back with this black book called Zombies VS Unicorns! This book was published in 2010 but I just found it at Periplus Book Bargain at Epicentrum this August 2013 (one of shopping malls at Jakarta). They sold it in a very cheap price, When I saw this I just grabbed it because it seemed a fun book! I bought it along with my James Patterson's Private London and Lauren Conrad's Fame Game.
Okay, about this book? I am definitely in Zombie's team, I mean, all stories are great, but every zombie's section is more interesting. Because this book consists of many stories from different writers, and you might find it boring in some stories but they were just okay for me. It's called characteristic, right? They have their characteristics in writing.
So, this book may look like a children book, but it's not. In some sections, you'd find it for adults readers. Just don't get fooled by the cover and its cool artworks! Haha. But it's worth reading by the way maybe because it has a lot of stories in it so you'd find it like a short story in a magazine. But the unique part is before the story begins, there's always section between Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier argued to compare each writer and their stories which is funny for me.
My favorite story is from Carrie Ryan 'Bougainvillea' !
Well, so yeah! This is how it looks like! You can find it at periplus or maybe times bookstore in Jakarta. But i doubt that, because I found it at book bargain which means it's a reduction sale! But hope you'll find it then.
Happy reading! Me love ya!
